Overview of Programme
The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Coordinator Conversion Programme helps and supports mid-career Singaporeans in acquiring relevant training to be WSH Coordinators. Successful applicants will be hired by participating companies and enrolled for training in the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Advanced Certificate in WSH at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, while applying their learning on the job.
There will be funding support by WDA and co-sponsoring companies for successful candidates to undergo the 3-month programme with Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
The WSH Coordinator Conversion Programme is targeted at individuals looking for a mid-career switch to become WSH Professionals. To qualify for the Programme, you should have:
- Preferably, at least two years of full-time working experience
- At least GCE āNā Level English grade 5 and Mathematics grade 5 or ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5
- Should not have any prior experience in WSH or held any WSH-related positions
Shortlisted applications will be forwarded to participating companies for interviews and final selection.
Funding Support
Successful candidates will receive course fee funding and monthly training allowance support (through the sponsoring company) throughout the three (3) months of training.
Funding Criteria
(A) General
- Trainees must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents (PRs)
- Trainees must be sponsored by a company under the Place-and-Train scheme
- Participating company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
(B) In order to be eligible for funding,
- Trainees are required to meet the attendance requirements of at least 75% for each module
- Trainees are required to attempt all assessments
Bond Period
Participants are required to fulfil a 3-month bond with their sponsoring companies upon completion of their course.
Note: Participating companies may apply their own contractual terms and conditions in addition to the terms of the programme and this bond.
